Our half marathon training program will have you ready for the 3M Half Marathon and/or the Austin Marathon!
All group workouts are run workouts at the track, where team members will enhance running form, increase speed, and improve endurance. Our fall/winter training schedule will emphasize the benefits of cross-training in a fun team environment.
We welcome ALL speeds. You should comfortably be able to run 5 - 6 miles before beginning our half marathon training program.
Workout Days
Track work -- Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30pm
Long runs -- Saturday mornings, usually starting and ending at Barton Springs pool so we can finish up with a recovery soak for our legs.
All members of the TRI ZONES TRAINING half marathon training group will receive:
- Coached weekly Wednesday night track workouts, with emphasis on improving technique, form, strength, balance, and speed
- Group long runs on Saturdays for the half marathon and marathon training groups
- Written training schedule every month
- Implementation of heart rate training
- Strength work guidance, including core strength
- Email access to coach for questions, tips, and guidance
