14th Annual 5 Miler / 5K & Kids 1K Fun Run

EVENT LOCATION
The Cedar Park 5 Miler/ 5K & Kids 1K begins and ends at The Commons at Buttercup Shopping Center located at the intersection of Buttercup Creek Boulevard and US183.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
The 14th Annual 5 Miler / 5K & Kids 1K event will be held on SUNDAY October 4th, 2009! This family-friendly event is held in Cedar Park, just northwest of Austin, and features a chip-timed run through the Buttercup neighborhood; the Kids Run is a 1K loop out-and-back.

Strollers and friendly leashed pets are welcomed, however, we do request for the safety of all participants that these racers stay to the rear of the starting pack.

Participants will enjoy a fun-filled morning of racing, food, awards, and goodie bags, door prizes! Entertainment by Culin Katate Acadamy, Texas Fine Art,Games to you,Gaming bus and carnival games provided by Twin Lakes Family YMCA.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
Since 1996, the event (formerly hosted by the Cedar Perk Coffee Company) has donated over $65,000 to local causes. This year, under the direction of the Twin Lakes Family YMCA, those efforts are continued by benefiting hike/bike trail development in Cedar Park, supporting our community policing activities, and providing Strong Kids scholarships for area youth.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
You MUST pick up your race chip on Race Day between 6-7AM in order to be timed! No chip, no time! 6:00-7:00AM Packet Pickup & Chip Distribution

8:00AM 5K starts
8:15AM MAIN EVENT ****14th Annual 5 MILER****

5K will not be Chip-Timed- ONLY 5 MILER will be Chip-Timed

Immediately following the race, we will have awards for top finishers in 16 age categories, plus Overall Male & Female, and Overall Masters Male & Female in 5 Miler. 5K First 3 finishers Male and Female age 18+ and Frist 3 finishers Male and Female under 18 !!!!

PACKET PICK UP & T-SHIRTS
Packets can be picked up at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA between 9AM and 4PM on Friday 10/2 or Saturday 10/3 AND on Race Day between 6AM and 7AM ONLY!

IMPORTANT! Tees will be distributed on a first registered, first served basis. Those registering after 9/15 are not guaranteed a shirt in the size requested. Additional tees WILL NOT be ordered after race day.

Paper registration forms will be available at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA after August 15th. Submit paper forms with check/cash payment ONLY in person or by mail to: Twin Lakes Family YMCA, 201 E. Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park, 78613. Deadline for postmarking is September 25th, 2009

RACE DAY-Racers may register on race day between 6AM-7AM with cash, check or credit card. Tee shirts may not be available in the size requested.

This category allows kids under the age of 12 to participate in the 1K Fun Run AND also the 5 Miler or 5K.
