The AAFAME Adventure Quest is an urban adventure race where teams of 2 complete various tasks and puzzles throughout downtown Austin. Obstacles will include a rock climbing wall, stilt races, brain drains and more. Secret checkpoints will challenge participants to think on their feet.
Participants can register as a Competitive or Amateur team. Prizes for Competitive teams will be a $500 Adventure Quest Travel Certificate for 1st place; with various prize packages for 2nd and 3rd. The 1st place Amateur Team will receive a $250 Adventure Quest Travel Package. This category is designed for families and other teams who might not be "as competitive" as typical race participants. Participation costs $50 per team.
The Adventure Quest benefits the Angelheart Children's Shelter. This year, AAFAME (the Austin Association of Facility and Maintenance Engineers) will use all proceeds to provide an Energy Makeover to the shelter. This makeover will provide green initiatives and energy efficient equipment that will lower the total costs of operations for the shelter from now and into the future.
