San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Fall Marathon Training Programs
Are you ready to "ROCK 'N ' ROLL?"
First Officail run will be Sunday April 27, at the Runtex Store on Lake Austin Blvd at 7 am. We will run/ walk 3 miles to kick off our training program.
Come join our group as we run/walk our way through the San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on November 16. This is an inaugural race with a lot of fun and excitement just down the road from Austin. Think you can't run a marathon or half? Come to our kickoff and we'll show you how you can train and still have a life.
We will train the Jeff Galloway run/walk training method, which is walk break every run segment. Program starts with a 3 mile run/walk and builds up from there. Walk breaks help you increase your distance and recover keeping you injury free during the training. This will be a Sunday morning training program meeting once a week for group runs and you will be scheduled two additional runs to do on your own during the week. This allows for flexibility in our everyday work and life schedules.
Meeting time will be at 7am at the Runtex Store on Lake Austin Blvd. Our meeting time will change to 6 am in July as the runs get longer and the heat is stronger.
Our half marathon programs will be on Saturday and Sunday mornings starting on July 19, and 20. You don't have to do this alone just bring a friend or two and you have a 98 % chance you'll still be friends after the program.
