100 CLUB GENERAL INFO

The 100 Club of Central Texas is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization providing financial, legal and emotional support to families of first responders who are killed in the line of duty. The Central Texas club’s area of coverage includes Travis, Hays, Bastrop, Williamson and Caldwell Counties.  All active duty first responders (Police, Fire and EMS) are eligible to be beneficiaries of the club's programs. Membership exceeds 1500 individuals and businesses.


OFFICER CLINTON WARREN HUNTER

Officer Hunter died November 29, 2001 from fatal injuries sustained when a vehicle, driven by a suspect attempting to flee from patrol officers, struck him a mile south of Southpark Meadows. Officer Hunter was deploying a tire deflation device in an effort to apprehend the suspect.  Officer Hunter was in his 14th month of service as an officer of the Austin Police Department. At the time of his death, he was 22 years old. The suspect, Herschel Hinkle, eventually pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to life in prison.


5K RUN/WALK LOCATION:

Southpark Meadows is located on South IH 35 at Slaughter Lane.  The start line of the race will be near the Target Store in the center of the complex.

Membership in the 100 club is included with the entry fee for all Police, Fire and EMS employees who register and check the appropriate division.

Friday – April 18th  from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday – April 19th  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday – April 20th (Race Day) near the start line at South Park Meadows


AWARDS:

The top 3 open male and open female finishers, top 3 masters, male and female will receive commemorative medals.  Commemorative medals will also be awarded to the top 3 in each five-year age group divisions.  Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female wheelchair participants.


POLICE, FIRE and EMS AWARDS:

The top 3 male police officers, the top 3 female police officers, the top 3 male master police officers and the top 3 female master police officers will receive commemorative medals.  The top 3 male firefighters, the top 3 female firefighters, the top 3 male master firefighters and the top 3 female master firefighters will receive commemorative medals.  The top 3 male EMS techs, the top 3 female EMS techs, the top 3 male master EMS techs and the top 3 female master EMS techs will receive commemorative medals. (Police, Fire and EMS employees will also be included in the age graded divisions.)  Your credentials will be verified at the awards ceremony.


TIMING:

This is a chip timed event.  Timing provided by Run-FAR, Austin, Texas.  If you do NOT own your own timing chip, you MUST pick up a timing chip at the Run-FAR tent near the start line.  You will NOT be included in the results if you do NOT wear a timing chip!


VOLUNTEERS:

All volunteers should show up at 7am on race day at the start line near the Target store.

 

PARKING:

Parking will be available throughout the Southpark Meadows complex.  Do not block any drives or business entrances. 


WAIVER:

In consideration of your acceptance of this entry form, I hereby release the sponsors, officials, owners of the facilities used for this race and any and all groups, people or facilities connected with the Run With the Heroes 5K at Southpark Meadows for any and all injuries by me at said race.  I further certify that I am physically fit to participate in the run.  I grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use my (and my child's) name, or photographs, videotapes, or other recordings or participation in this event, without obligation or liability to me (and my child).  I also understand that entry fees are not refundable. I have read this agreement carefully, understand it, and certify my agreement by my selections above.
