The Event: Join us for the 1st Annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Fun Run Walk Irish Festival benefiting the Lone Star Feis (a program of the Lone Star Irish Dance, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to restore, advance, and preserve the rich culture and traditions of Ireland, including traditional Irish dance, music, and language, creating a closer bond among descendants of Irish heritage and all lovers of Irish dance)
The race will start at 9AM on March 17, 2007 at Decker Lake (Walter E. Long Lake). Parking details will be announced at a later date. Please check www.runtex.com for more information. The entry fee also includes a “Shamrock Shuffle” t-shirt.
A special "Pot of Gold" Scavenger Hunt for the wee lads and lasses will begin at 10 am.
THE AWARDS
- Awards will be given to the top 50 overall male and female finishers.
- The best "Wearing of the Green" costume will also win a special award.
- Free food and drinks will be provided to all runners / walkers at the Award Ceremony
- Every race participant will automatically be entered for a chance to win a weekend for 2 at the Radisson Hotel & Suites located off of Town Lake

The 1st Annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Fun Run/Walk Irish Festival benefits the Lone Star Feis (a program of the Lone Star Irish Dance, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization), an Irish Step-Dance competition which showcases Austin yearly with up to 500 competitors and their families from all over the US, Canada and Mexico. Special competitions include music, spoken word and soda bread - beginning at 7pm on Friday, May 4 at the Omni Austin at Southpark Hotel. Heather Gilmore will be our Special Competitions Judge.
All dance competitions begin at 8am sharp on Saturday, May 5 ending with Championship Competitions from 3-5pm. The Feis ends with our signature "Cotton Eyed Joe Reel" Ceili (a Ceili is an Irish dance party). Come marvel at the beauty of dancers ages 4 and up to Championship level - in the art form of Riverdance right here in Austin!
