With a break in the Austin Distance Challenge Series, numerous Austinites journeyed to Huntsville for the Sunmart Texas Trail Endurance 50-Miler and 50-K on Saturday. In the 50-Miler, Meredith Terranova, 32, won the women's 30-34 age division with a time of 8:34:23. Placing second in the men's 50-54 was the king of the dirt--Joe Prusaitis--in 8:19:56.

The 50-K saw numerous Austinites trying an ultra for the first time. Leading the Austin contingent, was 33-year-old Joseph Kozusko who placed ninth overall in 4:08. A couple of minutes behind Kozusko was his training partner and fellow ultra rookie Mason Reay who placed 12th overall in 4:10. Kenny Hill, 56, was 29th overall and won the 55-59 division in 4:34:33.

Ashley Golliher had a great race. She finished 18th overall in the 50-K in 4:21 which made her the woman finisher.
