We were meant to run. There are so many things about running that aregreat. The way you feel while the blood is pumping through your veins - feeling alive. Being outdoors - often in nature. Being social – running with a group. And of course, the running "high" when you are done.
Unfortunately, the facts tell a different story. One fact is that 80% ofall runners end up injuring themselves. Like myself, some of the runners rehabilitate the injury, only to turn around and reinjure themselves by running again.
It wasn't until I learned of the POSE method of running, that things drastically changed; my years of knee pain disappeared the day I learned POSE. If you have been watching the news recently, or have read the book "Born to Run", you will know that people are starting to get smarter about running.
There is a movement afoot (pun intended), which is back to running the Natural Way. The Natural Way is running on the balls of your feet with little or no shoe in between you and the ground. Personally, I only run with bare feet when I run on the beach during Summer time. However, I do run on a minimum padding running shoe so that my feet have the freedom to move naturally (the shoes only weigh 4 ounces; standard running shoes weigh at least twice as much). Having said all of this, it is crucial to work with someone to show you how to run correctly.
The Pose Method inspired me to help others in their running as it did forme. That's why I decided to become a certified POSE coach. Now, I do what I love (aside from my full-time job with IBM) while I get paid for it. Win/win for me and for my students!
In my POSE clinic, I will video-tape your running to give you immediate feedback on your current style. Then, I will show you how to run correctly using the POSE method. This will cultivate an immediate awareness of how most of us put the brakes on while we are running. The common feedback, I have received from my students when they first run Pose, is that the method feels lighter, easier, faster and more fun.
The clinics take 4 hours. To register for a clinic, please go to my website. I am committed to make the clinics fun and engaging. www.freetorun.net
