Since Town Lake and the Hike and Bike Trail were renamed in honor of Lady Bird Johnson, the Town Lake Trail Foundation, which beautifies and maintains the 10.1-mile trail, was an organization in search of a new name. It now has one: The Trail Foundation. 

Says Susan Rankin, executive director of the Trail Foundation, "Our new identity honors our past while looking toward the future. And our mission continues:
to protect and enhance The Trail at Lady Bird Lake."

Although the Foundation has a new name, not much else has changed in its devotion to the trail. Adds Rankin, "Although our organization now sports a new name and a refreshed look, our heritage remains intact and true to what makes Austin one of a kind."

There is one change. The Foundation has a new website and address: www.thetrailfoundation.org.

Quick reminder: The Trail Foundation's principle fundraiser--the Moonlight Margarita Run--is August 7th.
