Rogue Moms: This 24 week
long program is designed for beginning and experienced running moms & any
others who have greater availability in the mornings, but still want to
participate in the marathon. This program will prepare runners to make it to
the starting line injury free and in proper condition to complete the 26.2

with the goal of the participant in mind & oversee two training sessions per
week. This group will meet on Wednesday at 9:15 am for the quality workouts
and long runs will be on Monday’s at 9:15 am at the RunTex Riverside
location until the long runs exceed 12 miles. At that point the long runs
will move to Sunday mornings, because of traffic concerns. This group will
also cater to those who would prefer to prepare for the Freescale
Half-Marathon. The cost of this program is $200.
Information Session will be on Wednesday, August 31st at 9:15 am at

Long Run Meeting Days: One of the best
things about the Freescale Marathon program is the variety of long runs.
This programs has over 10 different long run courses laid throughout the
Austin area to provide a diversity of scenery & terrain. These long runs are
the backbone of the training program & a long run schedule is available upon
request. You will have the choice of running your long runs on either
Saturday or Sunday. All long runs will begin at 7am & will be fully
supported with maps, trip tickets, water & electrolyte replacement. Our
coaches will be on the course throughout the runs to offer encouragement
advice & support, so you can focus on running the distance.
Quality Workout Days: The Freescale
Marathon Training program meets twice a week, once for the long run on the
weekends and again for the quality workouts during the week. These quality
workouts will balance pace, strength, and speed to help you develop the
fitness necessary to accomplish your goals. These workouts are periodized
into the following phases: Base; Base + Hills; Speed + Hills; Pace + Speed;
and the Taper phases. Each phase will focus on different combinations while
still keeping the focus on understanding the concepts of Goal and Date
pacing. We will have all marathon groups perform a fitness assessment in the
first few weeks in order for the participants to get a clear understanding
of the goal and date pace concepts. For the beginner groups, we will not
have a goal time focus initially, but rather will work on gaining the
fitness and ability necessary for covering the marathon distance.
