Training Levels
  Beginner Group: Beginning runners are those who are first-time marathoners & those who's primary goal is to finish the marathon distance, regardless of time. The pace that you run is unimportant but we require that you be able to run/walk 5 miles comfortably prior to the start of the program. The focus during the training is to prepare your body & mind to handle the stress that the marathon will produce. We will do this through an incremental increase in your long run distance, hill & general pacing workouts & judicious racing. This group will be training to run the entire 26.2 mile distance & though we will encourage a run/walk method initially, we will quickly wean the participant to running all of their long runs & workouts.

  Intermediate Group: Intermediate runners are those who have experienced the marathon & looking to improve your performance from your previous marathons. The training will focus on preparing your mind & body to cover the 26.2 mile distance in your goal time. We will accomplish this through the necessary race pace & hill workouts, long runs & races to bring you to the finish line where you want to be. The specific pace that you run is unimportant; however, we ask that you be able to run at least 7 miles comfortably prior to the start of this program.

  Advanced Group: Advanced runners are those that are trying to get that elusive Boston qualifying time or new personal record & are looking for a coach & a group of other advanced runners to help them accomplish their goal. The workouts are varied & challenging, with an early emphasis on hills & progressing to marathon goal & 10K pace to help keep a good balance.
