Every registered runner and walker in the
IBM Uptown Classic 10K Run will have the opportunity to get an
official time. Each participant will be assigned a ChampionChip
(CHIP) with instructions regarding its use. The CHIP itself is
very lightweight and small, almost an inch in diameter, and attaches
to the runner's shoelace. The CHIP is the automatic timing system
for running and walking events.
The CHIPS are assigned
to participants according to their bib number. CHIPs are are non-transferable
and must be worn only by the participant to whom it was assigned.
Please pickup your CHIP and zip-tie the morning of the race at
the "CHIP Station" located in the registration area beginning
at 7:00 a.m. Volunteers will be in the area to answer questions
and assist runners.
In the event that you are unable to return
the CHIP at the finish line due to illness, dropout, injury, etc.
Please return it, or take it to the RunTex store at 422 W. Riverside
in Austin (otherwise you will be billed $30.00).
